Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Herald Hero Challenge?

The Herald Hero Challenge is an initiative by the Herald encouraging you to make the most of life and enjoy the outdoors while raising money for a great cause. You can choose to take part in one or more sporting events sponsored by the Herald, and raise funds for your favourite charity by getting family, friends and colleagues to sponsor your performance. Together, you and your friends can make a huge difference to those in need.

How do I become a Herald Hero?

Each event has its own registration process. All you need to do is visit your chosen event’s website and follow the prompts to sign up.

What happens if I don't register at the events' website?

If you don’t register at the event’s website then you will not be eligible to participate in the event.

Who can I fundraise for?

You can raise funds for any of the 300-plus charities already partnered with Everyday Hero, which administers the Herald Heroes program. If you want to nominate a charity that is not yet registered as a partner, let us know and we’ll contact them . We’ll let you know when the partner is on board.

Can I choose more than one charity to support?

Not at this stage as it complicates administration and would eat into the very high proportion of donated funds that go direct to the partner charities’ coffers.

What events can I enter?

As a Herald Hero you can take part in the Cole Classic swim, the Sydney Half Marathon run and the City2Surf fun run.

Can I enter more than one event?

Yes, you certainly can. We encourage you to get more out of 2009 by challenging yourself to a number of events.

www.city2surf.com.au

Are there other events I can take part in?
